چکیده

In the ITEA2 Do-It-Yourself Smart Experiences project (DIY-SE), we are required to design an ontology-based ambient computing environment to support users to DIY their personalized solutions. In this paper, we illustrate how to manage data semantics using Semantic Decision Table (SDT). We use a simple rule writing language called Decision Commitment Language (DECOL) to store the SDT commitments. Semantic Decision Rule Language (SDRule-L), which is an extension to Object Role Modelling (ORM), is used to graphically represent DECOL. In this paper, we will demonstrate how SDT, together with SDRule-L and DECOL, are used by both technical and non-technical end users.

Lexical Semantics and Selection of TAM in Bantu Languages: A Case of Semantic Classification of Kiswahili Verbs

The existing literature on Bantu verbal semantics demonstrated that inherent semantic content of verbs pairs directly with the selection of tense, aspect and modality formatives in Bantu languages like Chasu, Lucazi, Lusamia, and Shiyeyi. Thus, the gist of this paper is the articulation of semantic classification of verbs in Kiswahili based on the selection of TAM types. This is because the sem...

Using SOIQ(D) to Formalize Semantics within a Semantic Decision Table

As an extension to decision tables, Semantic Decision Tables (SDTs) are considered as a powerful tool of modeling processes in various domains. An important motivation of consuming SDTs is to easily validate a decision table during the Validation and Verification (V&V) processes. An SDT contains a set of formal agreements called commitments. They are grounded on a domain ontology and considered...

The Semantics of the Word Istikbar (Arrogance) in the Holy Quran based on Syntagmatic Relations(A Case Study of Semantic Proximity and Semantic Contrast)

The word istikbar (arrogance) is one of the key words in the monotheistic system of the Quran, which has found a special status as a special feature of the opponents and adversaries of the call to the truth. Given the prominent role of this issue in the human life system and its provision of corruption and moral deviations, it is necessary to represent the nature of the elements that make up th...

Towards Group Decision Making via Semantic Decision Tables and Blackboards

Information infrastructures become increasingly decentralized. In these environments, coming up with coherent collective decision systems is difficult, especially in environments where central “authorities” are lacking. In this paper, we explore the idea of using artifacts called Blackboards for Decision Tables to support collaborative and incremental evolution of a network of Semantic Decision...

Organizing Meaning Evolution Supporting Systems Using Semantic Decision Tables

DOGMA-MESS (Meaning Evolution Support System) is a system and methodology for supporting scalable, community-grounded ontology engineering. It uses a socio-technical process of meaning negotiation to tackle the scalability problems in ontology engineering. In order to improve the effectiveness of DOGMA-MESS, we adopt Semantic Decision Tables (SDT). An SDT contains semantically rich decision rul...
